I start to get familiar with the ship
As days are passing by and I was getting more into my role as Cruise Staff and getting to know the ship. I realized, I am really having a good time and I am blessed to have the chance to work on this lovely ship. Our itinerairy this summer was United Kingdom and Ireland, Capitols of the North including overnights in St. Petersburg. Later during the summer a repositioning cruise to the Mediterranean and from there 14 days cruises.
My work schedule
The work schedule was more or less: when in port one or two Cruise Staff ran all the activities on the ship as was scheduled in the Daily Program. Ones everybody was back onboard all the Cruise Staff where working during the evening and the persons that had the day duty are excused from evening activities. When there was a sea day everybody works all day including evenings. If you are in a port and you never had a chance to see a port you can always ask to be free or exchange with another Cruise Staff. In theory you should be able to see the ports and have sometime for yourself.
At the time I was Cruise Staff the activities were mainly ship shape dollar activities and bingo. In the evening it was more socializing, hosting a game show like: newly weds game show, Quest (was super populair), karaoke, name that tune or a theme night like 70's night, Rock 'n roll or Country and Western night. It was always fun at there was so much variety in games. If in the evening there was a theme night we teached in afternoon usually a dance class for that theme night, suchs as lines dans classes. The people loved the dance classes that we teached in the Anchors Aweigh Lounge.
The ship itself: she was a beauty still a size that you recognize guests around the ship and were able to get a nice connections.
Legend of the Seas
Cruise Line: Royal Caribbean International (1995–2017), now she is still in service as a Tui Mein Shiff
Ship Class: Vision Class
First cruise: May 1995
Builder: Chantiers de l'Atlantique, Saint-Nazaire, France
Tonnage: Approx. 69,130 GT

Passenger Capacity: Around 2,076 guests (double occupancy)
Crew: Approx. 720
Overlooking point: Viking Crown

Deck 14 was the Viking Crown here you could have some amazing 360 views. The best view I have ever experienced was by far crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the ship outside it looks like you are going to hit the bridge, in reality there is still space between the bridge and the ship. There was a lot of ballast water in the ship to make it perfectly fit under the bridge. From the Viking Crown you could observe the priceless views of the ocean and sometimes dolphins or whales jumping around the ship.
