The Magic Carpet famous feature on the Edge Class ships

The Edge Class ships are known for their Magic Carpet , a multifunctional, movable platform that can travel vertically along the side of the ship, from sea level (Deck 2) all the way up to the higher decks. It typically serves as a bar or lounge offering amazing views of the sea, but during tendering operations, it can also be used as a tender loading area.

What makes the Xcel different from the other Edge Class ships?

This ship is the most sustainable among her sister ships. She features tri-fuel capable engines, and Xcel is designed to operate on methanol in the future, making it the first Edge-class ship to receive this sustainability upgrade. This innovation makes Xcel more eco-friendly and forward-looking.

The Dream Makers

Dream Makers was an invitation-only community where guests were able to share input about how they imagine the perfect cruise.

  • Spaces shaped by “Xcel Dream Makers” program, where guests influence decor, entertainment, and food concepts.

  • They asked future guests themselves to help design the experience.

    • Interior styling & atmosphere

    • Dining concepts & menu items

    • Bar experiences

    • Entertainment & activities

    • New spaces that debuted onboard

Instead of only relying on designers and architects, Celebrity included the people who know cruising best, the guests.

This ship has seven new experiences created influenced from Dream Makers

  1. The Bazaar – A multi-deck immersive space that brings destination culture, food, craft and entertainment onboard.

  2. Bora – An al-fresco dining venue on the Rooftop Garden offering share plates, brunches and Mediterranean (or destination) flavours.

  3. Celebrity Pool Club – A re-imagined pool deck experience: more service, cabanas, themed events (“The Poolest Day Ever”), live music & DJ.

  4. Attic at The Club – A new lounge/game space for grown-ups (and families) with arcade-style games, virtual golf, foosball, darts etc.

  5. Celebrity Flagship Store – A high-end retail/interactive space: part museum, part bespoke keepsakes, personalised items.

  6. The Spa (Celebrity Xcel) – The largest spa yet in the fleet, with new features like a Hydra Room, Vitamin D Deck, expanded Thermal Suite etc.
