Cruising During the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix
The Monaco Grand Prix is a spectacle every single year. But did you know you can also experience this iconic race weekend from a cruise ship?
Because Monaco is small and hotels during the GP weekend are both scarce and extremely expensive, several luxury cruise lines offer special Monaco Grand Prix cruises. You’ll stay on a comfortable ship docked in or near Monaco’s harbor, your floating hotel during the race. This way, you combine a relaxing, luxurious vacation with a truly unique F1 experience.
Are you a true F1 fan, or do you simply love cruising? Then this is the perfect combination. From June 5 to 7, 2026, you can experience the Grand Prix live in beautiful Monte Carlo while enjoying a luxurious stay on board your ship. No hassle with hotels, everything is arranged down to the last detail.
During this spectacular weekend, several cruise ships will be positioned in and around Monaco.
In the overview below, I’ll take you through all the ships that will be present in Monaco during the Grand Prix period.

Explora
Explora Journeys is once again offering an exceptional cruise around the Monaco Grand Prix in 2026. The ship departs from Civitavecchia (Rome) for a week-long sailing and will remain in Port Hercule for no less than five days, right next to the circuit. So you’re literally in the heart of the action.
Race tickets are not included, but you can book them directly through Explora once you reserve your cruise. You can choose between:
Grandstand tickets for a seated view along the circuit
Or the ultimate luxury: VIP access to the F1 Paddock Club, including hospitality, catering, and exclusive viewing areas
With Explora, you’ll enjoy pure boutique luxury while experiencing the Grand Prix as if you were staying in a hotel right in the center of Monaco.
Azamara Journey
The Azamara Journey will call at Villefranche on Sunday, June 7, during the 2026 Grand Prix, just outside Monaco. From Villefranche, you can easily take the train to Monaco, making it simple to attend the race.
Race tickets are not included with this cruise, but you can arrange them yourself if you don’t want to miss the event. This option is ideal for travelers who want the flexibility to combine a cruise with the Grand Prix and plan the day entirely on their own.

Windstar
The Windstar Surf will be in Port Hercule during the Monaco Grand Prix 2026 on June 6 and 7, right next to the circuit. This is the perfect option for anyone who wants to experience the race live without booking a hotel.
Only 14 cabins are available with the special Grand Prix package, which includes race tickets in Grandstand Section K for both Saturday’s qualifying session and Sunday’s race. It’s the ideal way to combine luxury cruising with a unique, up-close F1 experience in Monaco.
